  • Chip and number collection will be from the Wentworth Leisure Centre, Hexham (NE46 3PD), where toilets and changing facilities are available.

  • Baggage transport to the finish is available from outside the Wentworth Leisure Centre.

  • The start of the race is on the Beaufront Road, Hexham, which is approximately 10-15 minutes walk from the Wentworth Leisure Centre. Please arrive early enough to get to the start in good time. Please use the pedestrian crossing near Tesco to cross the road, then turn right towards the A69 and once over the bridge follow instructions from marshals.

  • The race finishes at Ovingham Middle School, where changing facilities (no showers) will be available.

  • Bus transport from Prudhoe station car park to the race start at Hexham is at 9am and 10am and costs £3, which must be booked and paid for in advance with entry. There is no guarantee of a place on the bus if you have not pre-booked and paid.

  • There is a £2 reduction if you enter both this race and the Tynedale 10k at the same time.

  • Please DO NOT park in Ovingham village. Inconsiderate parking could jeopardize the future running of this race. Please use the car parks on the south side of Ovingham Bridge at Low Prudhoe (approx. 15mins walk from the school).

  • Entrants should check the Tynedale Harriers website for last minute information before setting off to the race.

Route details:

The race starts on the Beaufront Road on the edge of Hexham and runs to Corbridge, coming in past the Roman site. It runs through Corbridge, up the Newcastle road and out to Styford High Barns where the route turns right and heads down towards Bywell. From Bywell the route runs alongside the river until it hits the road from Ovington to Ovingham, where it turns right to follow the road to the finish at Ovingham Middle School.
