Herts County Senior Championship

The Fred Hughes 10 is a 10 mile road race run round St Albans in Hertfordshire. The 2015 race will take place on Sunday 18th January at 10:00am.

Race update

Due to flooding on part of the course we have decided to use the alternate routes (as used in 2014). This has been accurately measured and certified. Please find a map of the route below.

The forecast for the weekend is not great and we would advise you to keep an eye on forecasts and come prepared for both running and travelling home in what might be deteriorating conditions as there is snow forecast, in particular Sunday afternoon but possibly earlier.

At this moment we are not anticipating that the race will be cancelled but if the situation changes, we will email you by tomorrow evening and update the website.

Technical T-shirt to all finishers

Start / finish line in same location on King Harry Lane, St Albans (close to Waitrose)

Full chip timing

Entries are limited to 800 and will close on Jan 16th or when sold out

Race limit of 2 hours

Minimum age of 18

Numbers and timing chips will be collected on race morning from Race HQ at St Columba's School, King Harry Lane, St Albans, AL3 4AW (see Google map)

Kit can be left in the changing rooms or in the main gym but this is entirely at your own risk.

Drinks stations will be available along the route. Refreshments will be available after the race at race HQ.

Prizes

There will be cash prizes for the first three male and female runners of:

• 1st: £400
• 2nd: £100
• 3rd: £50

Prizes to the following category winners will be presented in the sports hall after the race.

• Male veteran over 40
• Male veteran over 50
• Male veteran over 60
• Female veteran over 35
• Female veteran over 45
• Female veteran over 55

In addition, there will be team prizes for:

• Men: 1st team (4 per team)
• Women: 1st team (4 per team)
