The Blaydon Race 2017

The race this year will be run on Friday, 9th June
expected start at 7.15pm

ALL SOLD OUT!

In 2017 we will be finishing at the Shibdon Playing Fields on Shibdon Road, a bit further on from the shopping centre. The overall distance is 5.6 miles from Balmbra’s in Newcastle City Centre, along Collingwood Street and Scotswood Road past Armstrong’s factory and over the Scotswood Bridge to finish in the playing fields on Shibdon Road. There’ll be music and dance at the start, along the course and at the finish.

We emphasise that the Blaydon Race is a serious road race run under UK Athletics rules and not a sponsored walk: we will not accept entries from people who intend to walk.

Entry Fee

Entry for the 2017 race will be £25 with a £2 discount available to British Athletics/UKAA members

Please note that during the registration process your British Athletics/UKA membership will be checked and if valid the appropriate discount will be applied.

A booking fee of £1 per entrant will be added together with a small per-order charge to cover the cost of processing your debit or credit card.

All finishers will receive a commemorative certificate, tee-shirt, souvenir programme, local beer, crisps, sandwich and soft drink. Many will receive spot prizes. Results will be on the Results Base website (www.resultsbase.net). Runners have the option to receive an SMS text message with their race time immediately after crossing the finish line (if requested at the point of entry).
