Halloween is thought to date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain when people would light bonfires and dress up in costumes to ward off roaming ghosts. Today it’s a time of celebration: of fun and frivolity, of sweet treats and desperate tricks where ghosts and ghouls now try to scare away vampires, witches and werewolves.
This year 2:09 Events is celebrating Halloween on Saturday October 28th with a new terrifying 10K hosted by Denbies Vineyard near Dorking in Surrey. We are promising a dastardly route that undulates over paved tracks and off-road trails with a few tricks and special surprises along the way. There are prizes for the best costumes on display and lots of Halloween treats at the finish. For those who aren’t quite ready for 10K there is a family-friendly, scary sprint over a shorter 2K course. We dare you to give it a try!
Every finisher will get a special luminous medal and a goody bag at the end.
