Event Information

Start –  Runners can start between 09:25 & 10:15 runners will start in maximum groups of 6 and a minimum gap of 30secs

FACE COVERINGS MUST BE WORN WHEN ENTERING THE BUILDING TO REGISTER (masks are not supplied).

Please only arrive at registration when you are ready to run. Please bear in mind that if the weather is inclement, you will not be able to shelter inside the  registration area.
Registration will be open from 09:15 to 10:10. Register and go straight to the start ready to run. At registration you will be issued a pack with Race Number & Timing Chip.

Please vacate the finish line area as soon as you have recovered and collected your medal. The White Heather Hotel ground has adequate open area to allow runners etc.
To follow Government social distancing guidelines. Please make sure these guidelines are followed at all times.
Apologies that the guidelines restrict the social aspect of the event that we normally encourage and promote. Your safety is our priority.


Spectators are not allowed in the registration area or at the start and finish areas.

Location – White Heather Hotel, Old Airfield, Kirkbride, Wigton, Cumbria CA7 5HW

Facilities – Toilets for both male/female are available. Parking is available onsite.

No baggage lay down area will be available.

Race Numbers and Race day Information - Race numbers, timing chips, etc. will be issued at race registration. Race day information will be emailed to all entrants in the week leading to the race. If any updates are required to the race information they will appear on this page as well as the Sport in Action home page.

Registration – 09:15 – 10:10

Course – The route starts approximately 800m from the White Heather Hotel and finishes in the hotel grounds. This course is best described as flat and is a must for anyone looking for a PB. The roads are quiet country roads and very flat with one small climb that gives you a nice downhill run towards the finish. The course takes you one big loop through Kirkbride, Newton Arlosh, Lessonhall taking a left back towards Kirkbride and the finish.

Athletes are requested to follow the race director’s instructions and be aware of the dangers of cars and cyclist. See the links for a map of routes: Route Map

Risk Assessment – A full course risk assessment will be on display at the event HQ on race day together with maps of the route, the race permit and the measurement certificate in accordance with UKA rules (Permit No TBA).

Water Stations – The Water stations will be positioned at approx 4m & 8m water will in bottles. You will be required to take the bottle from the table they will not be handed to you.

Race Safety Briefing – NO race briefing will take place.

Prize Presentation – No prize presentation will take place all prizes will be BACs or posted.

Prizes – 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female. Age Groups 20 to 29, 30 to 39 etc. – These prizes will be awarded as follows Male or Female age groups with less than 15 competitors 1st Place only, Male or Female age groups with 15 or more competitors 1st & 2nd place and Male or Female age groups with 25 or competitors 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes will be awarded.

Any age grouper that finishes in an overall prize position (1st, 2nd or 3rd Male or Female) will receive the overall prize. That age group prize will then roll down to the next person in that age category. The third place prize will not be less than the age group winner.

NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN ON THE DAY

Please note that during the registration process your British Athletics/UKA membership will be checked and if valid the appropriate discount will be applied. Scottish Athletics and Welsh Athletics members can also obtain the discount by entering their membership number into the appropriate field.

An administration fee of 6% will be applied to each order by our online entry system partner, Results Base.
