The Keyworth Trail run is back! Following a year of world cups and busy work the Friends of Willow Brook Primary School are pleased to announce the return of the KTR15 and fun run for 2020. This is the third of the Keyworth running events including the Turkey Trot half marathon and the Crossdale 10K.

This year we will be using the ever popular 15.5km route around the stunning Wolds around the village of Keyworth in the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside. The KTR15 is a true trail run following rural trails and footpaths over undulating terrain. It is tough enough to provide a test for the seasoned trail runner but accessible enough for those who are dipping their toes into the longer distance runs.

The race will start in the grounds of Willow Brook Primary school and heads out of the village along quiet roads for a short distance before hitting the trails on a single loop of the Wolds before retracing the roads back to the school. There will be a feed station on the route- please note that in line with many events now we will be running a plastic free run and as such will have water bowsers at the feed station to fill reusable cups. We encourage you to bring your own reusable bottle or drinking cup for our marshals to fill.

The event will be timed by a running clock and we will have a tail runner following the last runner. We will also have fully trained first aid provision on the course. We do not anticipate there needing to be a cut off time for this race.

The KTR will be run according to UKA and Trail Running Association rules, if you are entering as a TRA member to claim the discount you are required to enter a valid TRA membership number.

The fun run, approximately 2.5km, will give the younger generation the opportunity to experience the thrills- and probably mud- of trail running. This run is open to all school age children upwards. We ask that anyone under the age of 10 is accompanied by an adult they know. This run will be a timed out and back route starting just outside the school- you will collect a band at the turning point. (be aware this is likely to be properly muddy-don’t wear your best trainers!)

The fun run will start at 9:30
The KTR15 will start at 10:00
Both will start at Willow Brook Primary School in Keyworth, Nottingham.
