Purple Gecko Events (PGE) in these terms and conditions are called the “Event Organisers”


These terms and conditions apply to all participants who register to take part in an event organized by Purple Gecko Events. In these terms and conditions participants will also be referred to as “you”

1 By registering in the event you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2 COVID 19 – The company will take every precaution to ensure the event is conducted in a Covid secure manner in accordance with current UK Gov guidelines. This includes social distancing throughout the event along with the use of PPE, temperature checks and hand sanitizing stations. The company cannot be held liable in the event of an entrant contracting Covid 19 in association with this event.

3 In addition to measures taken by the company to help ensure the event is Covid secure, entrants have a responsibility to maintain social distancing for the duration of the event.

4 Any entrant displaying a high temperature or signs of illness upon arriving at race registration will not be permitted to take part in the event. Entrants have a responsibility to ensure they are fit enough to complete the event safely and without jeopardising the health of other competitors or event staff.

5 All participants must be 5 years or above for the 2.5k. 8 years for the 5k, 16 years of age for Canicross entries, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

6 You are responsible for reading the details and description regarding the event contained on the website and any other information that may be sent to you by the Event Organizer and agree that you clearly understand what ability is required and what is entailed in participating in the event

7 The registration fee must be paid at the time of registration. Purple Gecko Events refund policy is: Any event entry or accommodation cancellation received by email to info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk more than 14 days prior to the event date will receive a 50% refund or transfer of entry fee towards another PGE event (£5 transfer fee applies). Only emailed cancellations to info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk are acceptable. Cancellations made in the last 15 days before the event start date will not be eligible for any refund or transfer

9 All entries are non transferable between individuals unless specifically agreed with Purple Gecko Events for extenuating circumstances buy contacting info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk

10 If any details provided by you on your registration form change you must notify PGE immediately by emailing info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk

11 The Event Organizers reserve the right to cancel your participation in the event if any information provided by you is found to be inaccurate in any way. In this case you will be refunded your entry fee minus 20% administration costs

12 No later than one week prior to the event, further event details providing detailed instructions regarding the event will be posted in the facebook event on the Purple Gecko Events facebook page and emailed to entrants.

13 Please note that all arrangements for the event, including the venue, date and programme may be subject to change, any changes will be notified to you via the facebook event in Purple Gecko Events.

14 You are responsible for ensuring that you have taken your own medical advice, and that you are medical fit and healthy and have undertaken appropriate training and preparation to participate in this event.

15 You are responsible for taking out suitable personal insurance cover for your participation in the event, and you must provide a copy of your insurance certificate to the Event Organizers if requested

16 You agree that you participate in the event at your own risk, and accept that the Event Organizers cannot be liable to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any personal injury sustained by you in any way or loss or damage to any personal property as a result of your participation in the event

17 You must abide by any rules or regulations of the event that may be notified to you by the Event Organizers or the venue owners at any point leading up to or at the event

18 You must show respect and courtesy towards other participants and spectators. If you behave in any manner which is, in the Event Organizers opinion, poor sportsmanship or a risk to the safety of any other participant, spectators or anyone else in attendance at the event this may result in you being disqualified from the event and removed from the venue

19 You are responsible for the safe keeping of your own personal possessions and those of any spectators you may bring to the event. Personal possessions left unattended at the venue in any facilities provided or otherwise are left entirely at your own risk.

20 The Event Organizers are not responsible for any third party organisations that may be provide other services at the event. You use any such services at your own risk

21 If access to published course is restricted for any reason an alternative route will be used

22 If the event has to be postponed for any reason, the Event Organizers will endeavour to arrange an alternative event, and you will be notified of the new date and venue of the rearranged event. These terms and conditions will continue to apply to the rearranged event. No refund will be given if you do not wish to participate in the rearranged event. Accommodation fees will not be refunded if the event is re-scheduled

23 If the event has to be cancelled, you will receive a refund of your registration fee minus a 20 % deduction to cover administration costs

24 You agree to photographs and video being taken at the event and that any images of you may be used by the Event Organizers in any media regarding the event and to market and advertise the event or any other similar events

25 By registering you are agreeing to any data provided being used by the Event Organizers and affiliated partners to contact you regarding other events.

26 You agree that where applicable once you have been issued your timing chip you are responsible for it. You agree to pay a sum of £100 on invoice if you do not return your timing chip at the finish of the event

28 The rightful owner of a dog is the person named as such in the dog’s vaccination book and/or official paperwork.

29 The rightful owner of a dog is required to have liability insurance (or family insurance) for any damages that their dog may commit.

30 The rightful owner must ensure that the animal is owned (cared for) in accordance with the law. In case of an injury (where there is no responsibility of any others) competitors are covered by event insurance.

31 Dogs must be kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES whilst at the event UNLESS to do so would present a danger for the dog, the owner, or others.

32 Any fouling must be cleared away and disposed of responsibly.

33 Competitors should not race dogs that are nervous of humans, as this can cause undue stress to these dogs. It is strongly recommended that dogs receive a vet health check before competing at any event. Any dog(s) deemed unfit to race by either the race Vet or Race Director must be withdrawn from competition.

34 For canicross dogs must be over 12 months of age on the day of racing. Bitches in Season: If you have a bitch in season, please advise the Race Director before the race start.

35 No pregnant or nursing bitches are allowed to compete.

36 Canicross waist belt and harness with a bungee line with built-in shock absorption that allows greater comfort for your dog and hands-free running for you.

37 The following items are NOT allowed: Choke chains or any collar that constricts your dog’s throat Electric shock collars Halties Muzzles (other than racing greyhound type muzzle) Flexi leads Your line / lead must not have a metal snap or loop on the handle. Lines /leads should be no longer than 2–2.7meters (2-dog) (6–8 feet). If your equipment does not meet these rules, you may be turned away from the start line – if in doubt ask at race headquarters.

38 You understand that it is the owners responsibility to ensure that the conditions are suitable on the day and my dog is fit enough to participate in this event. I have read agree to the the terms and conditions listed and acknowledge that Purple Gecko Events is not responsible / cannot be held accountable for determining whether it is safe to participate in this event.
