We are delighted to announce a Brand New Duathlon & Cycle Sportive Event at the iconic BAMBURGH CASTLE, NORTHUMBERLAND this Autumn. The running will be on paths and trails around the Castle grounds and the cycling will be on the open roads of the outstanding Northumberland Coastline. There will be a SPRINT EVENT and a STANDARD EVENT in the Duathlon and there is also the option to do both events as a relay with your friends. The Transition area will be on the Green to the front of the Castle making it one of the most stunning backdrops of any event in the UK!

When registering you will be asked for your best 5 or 10k running time which will allow us to create waves/starting groups depending on social distancing measures at the time of the event. The event is for all fitness levels, any type of push bike can be used but a cycling hat must be worn.
There will be a Wooden medal, an Event T-shirt, snacks & a drink for all finishers. The event has LIVE chip timing, free toilets, a secure transition area and free photography. There will be a small parking charge of £3 on the day at the Event car park near to the Castle.
Please note, if you have registered for the race using a BTF membership number to obtain the BTF discounted price you MUST present your membership card at registration or you will be required to pay a supplement for a Day Licence. Relay teams will only be eligible for one discount per team irrespective of the number of BTF members in the team.
SPORTIVE
We will also be hosting a brand new Cycle Sportive for the North-east starting and finishing on The Green outside Bamburgh Castle. A choice of 30 mile or 100km for the recreational cyclist or more serious athlete looking for a blast along the Northumberland Coast. The 30 miler heads South through Seahouses, Beadnell and down to Craster before turning back up to the Castle. The 100 km takes in Seahouses, Beadnell, Craster, Alnmouth. Warkworth, Amble and towards Alnwick before making its way back up. Both routes are on generally quiet country roads with plenty signage and marshals at key junctions. There's an Event top, Wooden medal, snacks and drinks for all entrants. Places are limited this year so grab your cycling buddies and get booked in ASAP.
