Rothbury Raider & Northumberland Epic Cycle Sportives 2022

ROTHBURY RAIDER – a brand new Cycle Sportive for Northumberland, this 42 mile ride has 3900ft of Climbing & some jaw dropping scenery. Ride with your cycling buddies from Kirkhale where there will be free parking, toilets and refreshments after the Event. A well- stocked feed station at Rothbury will be a great stopping point to recharge before you tackle the "lumpy" second half of the ride. Once out of Elsdon you will have a wonderful fast drop back to the finish via the Winter's Gibbet. Riders will be rewarded with a bike bottle, bacon roll or alternative and a hot drink as part of the entry fee.

The NORTHUMBERLAND EPIC Cycle Sportive is 90 miles of challenging cycling in North Northumberland with over 8000 feet of climbing this event is for more experienced riders who love a challenge. There is the option to dip your wheel over the Scottish Border at Coldstream which adds on a further 25 miles. There will be a substantial feed station in WOOLER before you tackle the ride back via Rothbury, Elsdon and the Winter's Gibbetts.

There is some fabulous scenery on the route with some twisting, climbing roads over the hills of rural Northumberland. Fully signed and marshalled where necessary, finishers will be rewarded with a bike bottle, a bacon sarnie or similar and a hot drink. This will be one event you will keep coming back to!!

THERE IS ALSO THE OPTION TO CAMP OVERNIGHT AT KIRKHALE IN A TENT OR CAMPERVAN. (no charging points) This will be an additional £15 and can be paid on entry. Competitors can be on site from 4pm on the 13th August.

Both rides are staggered starts and riders can roll out of Kirkhale anytime from 7.30am-9.30am.
