The Tour of Pembrokeshire is centred at Crug Glas Country House Hotel near St Davids (SA62 6XX) and will take place just after the Spring Classics on Saturday the 19th May 2018. It is established as a must-do event for sportive riders in the UK and from Ireland and Europe and it is twinned with the Tour of Brittany Sportive; Tro Bro Leon.
This will be the 11th Tour of Pembrokeshire and we have planned two exciting new features in addition to three newly developed classic routes. Firstly, we have added a 28 mile taster route for cyclists wishing to become a Tour of Pembrokeshire rider so they can experience the challenge and soak-up the atmosphere. Secondly, we have decided to give riders and their family and friends the chance to enjoy the Pembrokeshire Coast from the water, so we’ve teamed up with Preseli Venture for coasteering, sea-kayaking and surfing and Falcon Boats for wildlife boat trips. You’ll find links to their websites here for more information on these exciting opportunities.
The Tour of Pembrokeshire Weekend really encapsulates all that's great about being in the UK’s only coastal national park. Whether you’re cycling quiet country roads with challenging climbs and swooping descents or at sea enjoying the scenery, flora and wildlife, it is all breath-taking.
It's no surprise that the Tour has some big name sponsors and was described by Chris Boardman MBE, who rode it in 2015 as a superb, really enjoyable event.
We are delighted that this year Results Base are once again providing our online entry and timing and to avoid the need to attend pre-ride registration we will be sending the rider numbers and disposable timing chips by post directly to entrants.
Junior riders
We welcome junior riders, indeed Josh Tarling was only eight when he first rode the Tour. He left the start in St Davids with Cyril Morris who was 80 on the 2012 event. Any rider under the age of 18 must be entered and accompanied by an adult - that means the adult creates the profile, adds the child as a rider and then enters both into the event. Adults who are accompanying young riders need to download and fill in this form and bring it to the event registration with them.
Distances and pricing
We do not make refunds but riders can transfer their entry to another rider by emailing info@tourofpembrokeshire.co.uk. You can also freely switch between the 100, 75 and 50 mile routes if injury, lack of training or added enthusiasm kick in before the event (a cut-off date for changes will be announced later). To see how to change between routes follow the instructions on this page. If you want to upgrade from or downgrade to the 25-mile route please contact us by email at info@tourofpembrokeshire.co.uk
