ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE
The Ythan Challenge is a multi-terrain adventure race which starts and finishes at the Meadows Sports Centre in Ellon, north of Aberdeen. The course takes runners along a largely flat off-road path beside the river Ythan and onto the beautiful Esslemont Estate, which is usually closed to the public. Once on the estate, the going gets tougher underfoot and you can expect a few surprises as the course includes a series of obstacles — including the now famous (or possibly infamous!) straw bales and killer hills and, of course, the river itself.
The standard entry fee for 2018 is £30 per person. A special earlybird price of £25 will be available to the first 200 people to register.
There are prizes for the first, second and third men and women overall. There are also prizes for the first male and female 'veteran' (40-49), first male and female 'supervet' (50-59), and first male and female 'vintage' (60+). There are also prizes for the first open team, first uniform team and first corporate team, as well as spot prizes.
If you want to enter as a Team then please use the team entry option. You can create all the team members in your profile and enter them all in one go or you can add yourself (and others if you wish) to an existing team.
Please note that a Team is NOT the same as a Club! A team is an arbitrary collection of people who may work for the same company, or be a group of friends or have some other association. Yes, they may all be members of the same Club but for the purposes of the team prize it's the team name that's the glue that connects them and not the club name.
