Race Info

PRE-RACE INFORMATION

PARKING

This will be along Low Road. Do not park in the church car park or within Allerdale Yard (behind the social club). Car share if possible to keep traffic to a minimum. Please listen to the instructions of the parking attendants. Be considerate if leaving early as there will be competitors completing the final part of the race.

REGISTRATION

Previously we have been able to take on the day entries. If we are getting close to maximum numbers we will publish this on Facebook and the school website.

TOILETS

Toilet facilities are provided within the social club.

ROUTE

The race route is available to view at the school website: http://www.brigham.cumbria.sch.uk There will also be a map on display at registration within the social club.

The race will begin on Stan Lonning and head along Low Road then up Cockermouth Lonning. It will then make its way through the village, past the school and up to Greysouthen. Before entering the village the route will turn left over Overend Road and then return to Cockermouth Lonning via Hotchberry Brow. The finish line will be situated within Allerdale Yard outside the social club. A drinks station will be located on Overend Road.

If you retire early from the race, please report to the finish to ensure you are accounted for.

ORDER OF THE DAY

  • 09:30 – registration opens (social club)
  • 10:30 – registration closes
  • 10:50 – safety brief to all runners (caravan park)
  • 10:55 – runners led onto road to begin race
  • 11:00 – RACE STARTS
  • 11:35 – first runners expected
  • 12:30 – final runners expected
  • 12:30 – prize giving
  • 13:30 – close

Headphones are not permitted. Any competitor seen wearing headphones will be disqualified from the race.

FIRST AID

Alert a marshal if first aid is required. We are lucky enough to have First Responder cover this year so please alert a marshal asap if help is required.

PRIZE GIVING

This will take place at 12:30. We have some great prizes kindly donated by the businesses listed above for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female. Spot prizes will also be given.

REFRESHMENTS

Bottled water will be provided on completion of the race along with an edible medal kindly made by Keswick Cookery School. Cakes will be available; any donations for these would be much appreciated. All funds will go towards buying equipment for St Bridget’s School, Brigham. Further refreshments will be available to purchase from the bar within the social club.

Results will be available from www.resultsbase.net

IMPORTANT!

The social club is situated at the entrance to Allerdale Yard. This yard will be in use all day by Egertons vehicle recovery. Please keep this area free and be aware of vehicles wishing to pass.
