Do you have what it takes to match the ‘Bravest of the Brave’?

The Gurkha Welfare Trust is excited to be launching the first Gurkha Doko Challenge in 2019, its 50th anniversary year. A unique event which will challenge all participants to pull on their Gurkha boots and match the bravest of the brave!

Known as some of the most fearless and respected soldiers in the military, the Gurkhas have fought in the British Army for over 200 years. Their recruitment process remains one of the toughest in the world.

The race takes place on the Long Valley Training Area military base in Aldershot on Saturday 22 June 2019. Participants will have three choices for their basket weight 5kg, 10kg or 15kg, all of which are provided. The course is 5km long and primarily uphill.

Whether the time is beaten or not, a delicious authentic Gurkha curry will be waiting for all participants at the finish line.

The fundraising target for The Gurkha Doko Challenge is £150.

Funds raised from this challenge will support The Gurkha Welfare Trust’s mission to ensure that Gurkha veterans, their widows and their wider communities are able to live with dignity in Nepal, through the provision of financial, medical and community aid.
