Welcome to the Live Life Aberdeenshire Events Great Inverurie Bike Ride & Suie Classic Cycle Sportive 2020
We are happy to be able to confirm that the Live Life Aberdeenshire event, The Great Inverurie Bike Ride and Suie Classic Cycle Sportive will be going ahead on Sunday 27th September 2020.
There will be alterations to the usual event structure to allow for social distancing, full instructions will be emailed to all entrants in advance, but key changes are likely to include:
- Rolling Starts (Spaced out time slots)
- No on the day entries, Strictly Pre-Entries only
- Briefings will be sent in advance by email. No race day briefings.
- We will reduce touch points as far as reasonably possible throughout registration & course.
- Extended Areas to allow for social distancing.
- Face masks required for registration, minimal contact
- Track & Trace health declaration required.
- Spectators discouraged
- Roll through finish, no stopping
- T Shirts to be sent out after event
* This is all subject to obvious Covid-19 caveats, particularly changes in Scottish Government guidance and requirements.
The Suie Classic is a 54 mile cycle sportive and the Great Inverurie Bike Ride is open to all with routes of 13 miles and 25 miles, with both routes offering a family option.
Course description
The scenic 25 mile route remains the same as previous years beginning at Kellands Park in Inverurie, and then heads via Chapel of Garioch, Bennachie, Pitfichie and Monymusk, returning to the start via Fetternear and Burnhervie.
The 13 mile route cuts off just after Chapel of Garioch and heads down to Burnhervie picking up the main return route.
The 54 mile scenic but challenging Suie Classic route passes through the Chapel of Garioch branches of to the Lord's Throat to Keig, up Suie hill and on to Brindie and back through the Lord's Throat to join the remainder of the 25 mile route back to Inverurie. The route is on quiet roads through the beautiful Donside and Bennachie hill range.

Pricing
Suie Classic: Individuals 16+ £30 each increasing to £35 from March 31st with a 10% discount for 4 or more riders entering together
Great Inverurie 25 miles: Individuals of any age (1-15 years MUST be accompanied by adult) £12.50 each with a 10% discount for 4 or more riders entering together OR Family Entry £40 for 2 Adults (16+) and up to 2 children
Great Inverurie 13 miles: Individuals of any age (1-15 years MUST be accompanied by adult) £10 each with a 10% discount for 4 or more riders entering together OR Family Entry £25 for 2 Adults (16+) and up to 3 children
Event schedule
Entrant will be given an allocated time to register and start. You will arrive in your allocated time and collect your race number then roll through the start line within your allocated time slot. The event is chipped timed with live results available online.
All entrants will receive an Information Email which will include your time slot. See schedule for start time for the distances.

- 11.30am to 12.30pm - Start of the 25 miles routes ( Groups of 30 every 30mins, your start time will be allocated)
- 12.30am to 2pm - Start of the 13 miles routes (Groups of 30 every 30mins, your start time will be allocated)
- 4.30pm - course cleared and de-signed
Refreshments and entertainment
Unfortunately due to current circumstances and guidelines there will be no activities or food in Kellands park before or after the event.
There will be no refreshment or toilets available in Monymusk also this year due to the current circumstances.
