Porthcawl RNLI’s tireless volunteers save countless lives each year – but now they need YOUR help.

Me? But how can I help?

Simple. All you have to do is run, jog or walk a 5km route of your choosing, on any day during the month of May, and upload your proof to the Results Base website by 9pm on Wednesday 2nd June 2021.

How much does it cost?

It costs just £5 (plus 30p admin fee) to enter and, as part of that, you get your very own Active for the RNLI medal.

Who’s organising this?

The event is being organised by Porthcawl Runners, the town’s friendly local running club.

But I’m not a member and I’m not even sure I can run 5k?

You don’t have to be a member. The event is being organised by Porthcawl Runners to raise money for Porthcawl RNLI – but it’s open to EVERYONE of ALL abilities. You can walk the entire 5k if you choose to.

But if there’s a medal included how much of my £5 will actually go towards helping Porthcawl RNLI?

Every single penny of it. The medals have already been kindly donated free of charge courtesy of some external funding – therefore every single penny of your £5 entry fee will go directly to the Porthcawl RNLI.

If it’s a virtual event how will I get my medal?

Your medal can be collected or posted (a small extra charge will apply) and you will help us keep Porthcawl RNLI going from strength to strength. That also means you don’t have to live in Porthcawl to take part.

Remember…

The Porthcawl RNLI may have been going for a staggering 161 years, but that is only thanks to the help of the thousands of volunteers over the years. Porthcawl RNLI Lifeboat is still active and as busy as ever, launching up to 100 times each year and saving countless lives.

But this is run purely on a voluntary basis and, only with the help of fundraising, can they continue to operate and save more lives. We aim to raise over £1,000 to help them – but we can only do this with YOUR help.
