Welcome to the 31st running of the TRIATHLON RELAYS at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham. The National Water Sports Centre is situated two miles south of the city of Nottingham. Racing takes place on a completely closed road course which is near perfect for both competitors and spectators alike.
British Triathlon Federation Event of the Year 2007 & Triathlon England Event of the Year 2015
Originally started in 1991, this weekend has become legendary in as much as although others have tried to replicate it, the Triathlon Relays is still very unique. In 2019 over 2000 athletes and over 100 different clubs joined in the fun that we call 'organised chaos'.

The Triathlon Relays
Each member of the team individually swims 500 metres before tagging their team mate, and so on, and so on, until all four people have completed the swim. Moving onto the 15km bike, each athlete individually completes the 15km bike, until the last team member then tags the first team member to start the 5km run section.
We have slightly different catagories for the 2022 Club Relays being the following;
- Commercial / Closed Club (Universities, Services/Forces, Race Teams)
- Community Club (Traditional not for profit open clubs with committees)
- Open (Everyone else)
In the morning, the men's and women's categories will be racing for awards in various categories - junior, senior, vet 40 and vet 50.
In the afternoon, the mixed category will give the chance for the men's and women's teams to combine and race for more awards.
Please note that:
- a junior team must all be under 20 and not less than 15 on 31/12/2022
- a senior team must all be not less than 15 on 31/12/2022
- a Vet 40 team must all be over 40 but at least one must be under 50 on 31/12/2022
- a Vet 50 team must all be over 50 on 31/12/2022
- a mixed team must have a 2:2 ratio of male to female
- a team with mixed clubs, non-BTF members or unattached BTF members will be classed as Open and not eligible for National Championship Awards
