Returning in 2023! The Coast2coast Copper Trail Noir!!
A 12 Mile, timed self-navigation trail run from Devoran Quay on the South Coast of Cornwall all the way across to Portreath on the North Coast...at night! New for 2023, the Noir Boomerang! double the distance and make it 24 Miles with an out and back from Portreath!! Canicross welcome both distances:)
This year the event is in suppotrt of the amazing Chestnut Appeal who have been raising awareness of Prostate Cancer and providing support throughout Devon & Cornwall since 1999. We have a limited number of discounted Chhestnut Appeal charity places up for grabs on both distances:)
Runners for the Standard Noir will register in Portreath from 2pm before being bused over to the start point at Devoran from 4pm. The race will start at 5pm on Devoran Quay.
Runners for the Boomerang will register at Portreath from 2pm and set off from Portreath beach at 3.45pm, head over to Devoran before turning around and finishing back with the others at Portreath:)
There is a 5 hour cut-off time for this event. Runners will be issued a GPS tracker with a live link to the route along with a map at race registration.A kit check will also take place here too. There will be a checkpoint at the halfway point laden with fluid & salt / sugar snacks.
All runners must carry the following essential items: A fully charged mobile phone with charger, issued GPS tracker & map / Headtorch with spare battery / Spare warm clothing in a waterproof bag (hat/leggings/gloves/top) / A hi-vis top or reflective strips-clothing / small first aid kit / nutrition / compass (phone app acceptable) / minimum 500ml fluid.
All runners will receive a Coast to Coast Copper Trail Noir award & there will be awards for the top finihsers!
We will have hot soup & bread waiting for you at the finish! Plus the bar will be open if you fancy some liquid refreshment!
This way-marked trail follows two historic transport routes across Cornwall first opened in 1812, helping the mines transport copper to the ports of Portreath & Devoran.
