West Lancs Spring Triathlon takes place at the Award Winning Edge Hill University Campus, the perfect venue for a pool Triathlon and the event has become one of the most highly rated for first time triathletes in the country.

All abilities take part including some of the region’s elite competitors, but the event has really made it’s name as the perfect first time challenge. The 400m swim takes place in the 25m swimming pool in the £25m Sports Centre, the 21.5k cycle is a relatively flat 3 lap course and the 5k run takes in the fitness trails around campus before finishing on the running track to the cheers of your family and supporters.

West Lancs Triathlon is our #MyFirstTri event for 2024. The course, distances and support make this event perfect for a first triathlon.

What do I need to enter the event?

• A roadworthy bike (mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable) and recognised cycle helmet.
• You must be medically sound and if you have any history of illness or injury, consult your GP beforehand.
• You must be at least 15 years of age in the event year. 

How much to enter:

The cost to enter West Lancs Triathlon is £54 for a solo entry and £84 for a relay entry (team of 2 or 3).

Entries will close either at 12 noon on the Thursday prior to the event or when the event fills, whichever occurs first.

British Triathlon:

You are required to be a member of British Triathlon and hold a race licence or have a British Triathlon Race Pass to race in this event.  You must either become a British Triathlon 'Core' or 'Ultimate' annual member HERE or purchase a single use Race Pass for West Lancs Spring Triathlon HERE.
