The Virtual National Forest Trek Challenge 2024

The Virtual National Forest Trek Challenge 2024

14 December 2023 -
30 April 2024

A WALKING CHALLENGE FOR EVERYONE

Brought to you by the organisers of the National Forest Trek, the Virtual National Forest Trek Challenge is FREE to enter and invites you to walk 75 miles (120km) between now and the end of April. You can choose to walk as little or as far as you want on any given day, accumulating the miles as you go. You can complete it as quickly or slowly as you want and wherever you want, starting from your front door or adventuring further afield into the countryside. It’s all about getting yourself moving and spending time outdoors.

So how does it work?

Once you’ve signed up, you simply need to update the entry page with your latest distance and time walked and the system will look after the rest. You can also link your entry to your Garmin account, so your walking activities are automatically uploaded into the event!

As each mile is undertaken, you’ll see your personalised icon move along the map of the route. When you reach each major milestone along the 12 stages of the National Forest Way in the Midlands, you’ll see the image change to full colour, unlocking interesting information about features along the route.

There will also be a special e-certificate that you can download upon completion of your 75-mile (120km) challenge.

Get your friends, family and colleagues involved too!

Why not set up or join a team? Setting up a team is quick and simple to do and everyone in the team can view the progress of team mates on the route map. Spend time together keeping fit and active by walking with friends, family or colleagues or enjoy the reflection time of walking alone.

You can enter for FREE at any time but the completion date for this challenge is 30th April 2024, and beyond that you can still explore the National Forest Way for real. To check out the 12 stages of the National Forest Way click here.

Something for everyone!

We recognise that not everyone will be in a position to undertake the whole 75 miles (120km) and some might want go even further, the important thing is to just do what you can. Being outside in the fresh air is great for both physical and mental wellbeing.
