Purple Gecko Events (PGE) in these terms & conditions, are called the ‘event organisers’
These terms & conditions apply to all participants who register to take part in an event organised by Purple Gecko Events.
In these terms & conditions, participants will also be referred to as ‘you’.
DETAILS & FEES
  1. Minimum ages for this event is:
All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the entirety of the event
  1. You are responsible for reading the details & description regarding the event on the Purple Gecko Facebook page, the Website and any other information that will be sent to you by the Event Organizer. You agree that by signing up to the event, you clearly understand what ability is required & what is entailed in participating in the event.
  2. The registration fee must be paid at the time of registration. Purple Gecko refund policy is:
- Any event entry cancellation received via email to info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk more than 21 days prior to the event date will receive a 50% refund or transfer of entry fee towards another PGE event. (This will incur a £10 transfer fee for the entrant). Only emailed cancellations to the above email address are acceptable.
- Cancellations made within 21 days or less of the event date will not be eligible for any refund or transfer. This includes Covid 19 & associated illnesses.
- In the event of any transfer being requested, a transfer fee of £10 will be required from the participant
  1. All entries are non-transferrable between individuals unless specifically agreed with Purple Gecko Events in writing & via email at info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk
  2. If any details provided by you on your registration form change, you must notify Purple Gecko Events immediately by emailing to info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk
  3. The Event Organizers reserve the right to cancel your participation in this event if any information provided by you is found to be inaccurate in any way. In this case you will not be entitled to a refund or event transfer of any sort.
  4. No later than one week prior to the event, further and final event details & instructions regarding the event will be posted in the event on the Purple Gecko Events Facebook page, on our website & emailed to all participants.
  5. Please note that all arrangements for the event including the venue, date and event day scheduling may be subject to change. Any changes will be notified to you as soon as possible via the Purple Gecko Events Facebook page and via individual email. No refund will be issued if you cannot make the rescheduled time/date/venue.
  6. All Forestry England events are subject to final permissions being granted.
  7. You are responsible for ensuring that you have taken any medical advice given. All entrants have a responsibility to ensure they are fit & well enough to complete the event safely & without jeopardising the health of other competitors or event staff. You are responsible for ensuring that you have undertaken appropriate training for this event
  8. You are responsible for taking out suitable personal insurance cover for your participation in this event & must be able to provide a copy of your insurance certificate if requested to do so by the Event Organiser.
  9. You agree that participation in this event is at your own risk and accept that the Event Organiser cannot be held liable to the fullest extent permitted by law for any personal injury sustained by you in any way, or any loss or damage to any personal property as a result of your participation in this event.
  10. You are responsible for the safe keeping of your own personal possessions and those of any spectators you may bring to the event. Personal possessions left unattended at the venue or in any facilities provided are left entirely at your own risk.
  11. The Event Organisers are not responsible for any third party organisations that may provide other services at the event. You use any such services at your own risk.
  12. If access to the published course is restricted for any reason, an alternative route will be used. Purple Gecko Events will notify all participants via email at the earliest possible opportunity.
  13. If the event has to be postponed for any reason deemed necessary by the Event Organiser, an alternative date & time will be arranged and you will be notified of this accordingly. These terms & conditions apply to the rearranged event also. No refund will be given if you do not wish to participate in the rearranged event. No accommodation fees will be refunded if the event is rescheduled.
  14. If the event is cancelled, you will receive a refund of your registration fee minus a 20% deduction to cover administration costs.

RULES & REGS
  1. You must abide by any rules or regulations of this event that may be notified to you by the Event Organiser or the venue owner at any point leading up to or during the event.
  2. The use of headphones is not permitted during this event, for your own safety. Purple Gecko Events take no responsibility for any incidents that occur due to the wearing of headphones by participants and you, the participant, hold full responsibility by choosing to do so.
  3. You agree to assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, where applicable and not limited to, ground conditions (e.g. muddy, slippy, uneven) traffic & road crossings, public interactions, steps/obstacles on pathway, proximity of coast path to the edge of a cliff, weather conditions & visibility/light (time of day).
  4. By entering this event, you do so in the nature that it is intended. You agree to read & understand the rules and what is expected of you regarding kit list, map reading skills, risks, cut-off times etc. & anyone found to be in breach of this nature will be disqualified from the event & risk a ban from future events hosted by Purple Gecko Events
  5. Please ensure you dispose responsibly of any litter or debris you acquire. Do not leave any trace on trails or at venues used by the event that could jeopardise our future use. If no bin is available, please take litter away with you. Purple Gecko Events will always have bins available at race registration, checkpoints & finish sites. Anyone found to be disregarding this basic request will risk being disqualified from the event itself.
  6. You must show respect & courtesy towards other participants, spectators & the general public. If you are found to be behaving in a manner that is not in keeping with the nature of the event, (poor sportsmanship, risking the safety of another participant, spectator or member of staff or general public) as deemed so by the Event Organiser, you will be removed from the event and no refund will be given.
  7. By participating in this event, you agree to photographs & video being taken and that any images of you & other persons entered on your behalf including dependants, may be used by the Event Organiser in any media regarding the event and also to market & advertise the event (or similar events) in the future.
  8. By registering, you are agreeing to any data provided being used by the Event Organiser & affiliated partners to contact you regarding other events.
  9. You agree that, where applicable, once you have been issued tour GPS tracker, you are responsible for it. You agree to pay a sum of £100 on invoice if you do not return your GPS tracker at the finish of the event.

CANICROSS ENTRIES
  1. The rightful owner of the dog is the person named as such in the dog’s vaccination book and/or official paperwork
  2. The rightful owner of the dog is required to have liability insurance (or family insurance) to cover any damages that their dog may commit
  3. The rightful owner must ensure that the animal is owned (cared for) in accordance with the law. In case of any injury (where there is no responsibility of any others) competitors are covered by event insurance
  4. Dogs must be kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES whilst at the event UNLESS to do so would present a danger for the dog, the owner, or others.
  5. Any fouling must be cleared away & disposed of responsibly IMMEDIATELY
  6. Competitors should not race dogs that are nervous of humans as this can cause undue stress to the dogs. It is strongly recommended that dogs receive a vets health check before competing at any event. Any dogs deemed unfit to race by either the vet or Race Director, must be withdrawn from competition.
  7. For Canicross, dogs racing must be at least 12 MONTHS OLD on the day of racing.
  8. If you have a bitch in season, please advise the Race Director before the race start.
  9. No pregnant or nursing bitches are allowed to compete.
  10. All entrants must have the correct equipment in order to participate - A Canicross waist belt & harness with a bungee line with a built-in shock absorption that allows greater comfort for your dog & hands free running for you. Failure to have the correct equipment will lead to you being removed from the event.
  11. The following items are NOT allowed: Choke chains or any collar that constricts your dogs throat, electric shock collars, halties, muzzles (other than racing greyhound style muzzle), flexi leads. Your lead must not have a metal snap or loop on the handle. Lines/leads should be no longer than 2 metres. If your equipment does not meet these rules, you will be turned away from the start line. You are responsible for ensuring you have this correct before the race starts. Purple Gecko Events holds no responsibility for you having the wrong equipment and being removed form the event.
