Denbies Bacchus half marathon was voted second best half in the UK by Runners World readers in 2013 and 2014 and voted third best event overall in 2014.

As England’s largest vineyard, Denbies Wine Estate has been producing award winning wines since 1986. It is the first wine estate in the world to give visitors of all ages a unique and fascinating insight into all aspects of the wine producing process, all year round, with indoor and outdoor tours and tasting.
The vineyards of Denbies Estate are situated on the North Downs with its famous chalky soil, in a protected valley of south facing slopes.
The venue has secure baggage, toilets and changing facilities (sorry, no showers). Refreshments are available for purchase from the restaurant and a post-race Hog Roast will be provided free of charge to all participants of the full and half marathon.
Friends, family and supporters are welcome to spend the day at Denbies with indoor wine tasting, art gallery, farm shop, wine and gift shop and public footpath trails. Entry to the estate is free of charge.
Finishers of the full and half marathon will be presented with a technical t-shirt (available in X-small, small, medium, large or X-large), medal, post-race hog roast and complimentary drink on completion of the race. In addition to the included technical race t-shirt, you can also purchase a special commemorative cotton t-shirt separately during the entry process.
Entrants for the full or half marathon are required to be 18 years or above.
If a half marathon is too far for you or you have children to entertain while your friends are off running through the countryside then why not run, or walk, a 5km loop around the Denbies Wine Estate. All participants will receive a medal.
The 5k will start after the half marathon runners have departed - it should be around 11:05 - 11:10am.
A special commemorative cotton t-shirt can be ordered separately during the entry process. The Hog Roast can be purchased on the day direct with Denbies.
Age limits for the 5k are 6 years + (under-11s must be accompanied by an adult)
There are three start waves starting 30 minutes apart to even the flow of runners on the route and at wine tasting stations. All marathon runners will set off at 10am in the first wave along with 500 half marathon runners, the subsequent two waves for the half marathon will set off at 10.30am and 11am with 850 in each block.
You will need to pre-select your wave during entry so that you can be sure of starting with your friends.
