- In registering for the DB Wood Virtual Newark Half Marathon, the Participant agrees with the DB Wood Newark Half Marathon ‘Organisers’ to the Terms and Conditions set out below:
- The Participant will abide by U.K.A. rules where appropriate, race rules and, Organiser instructions / directions.
- Participants taking part in the DB Wood Virtual Newark Half Marathon at their own risk and are medically fit to run a half marathon as applicable.
- The Organisers reserve the right to refuse or cancel applications, to alter the date of the event, or distance.
- Half marathon Participants will be 17 years or older on race day.
- Parent or Guardian of any Participant under 18 years of age who is entering the event – Give consent that the Participant entering the event can take part in the DB Wood Virtual Newark Half Marathon
- You must pay the race entry fee at the time of entering the race.
- All race entry fees are non-refundable, and cannot be deferred towards a future race, nor can an entry be transferred from one race to another. You do not have a right to change your mind since the race entry fee is charged in return for our entering you into the race. Your entry is completed as soon as you have completed the race entry process.
- Neither Participants (nor parents / guardians for Participants under 18 years of age) will hold the Organisers of the event responsible for any illness or injury resulting from the event.
- Participation is at the Participants own risk. The Organiser, its staff, agents, or contractors shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss or damage. The Participant agrees that the Organisers will in no way be held responsible for any injury, loss, or illness to their person during or as a result of the event.
- The Organiser shall not be liable to the Participant for any loss or damage of or to personal equipment belonging to the participant, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever arising out of the Participant taking part in the event, or for any loss of business, revenue or profit, loss of reputation, anticipated savings or wasted expenditure, pledges made on the Participants’ behalf to a charity and / or other third party.
- Entries to the DB Wood Virtual Newark Half Marathon are personal to the Participant. Participants agree not to re-sell, pass or transfer (save in accordance with the Organiser’s consent to a transfer) their entry to another person, or allow another person to wear their race number, even if they cannot participate due to injury or illness.
- You will be treated as having completed the race if you submit the required evidence of your completion of the required evidence. If we do not receive your evidence, you will not receive a medal. Any question as to whether sufficient evidence is provided will be determined solely at our discretion.
- We will send a race medal (if purchased with entry) to each participant who provides the required evidence of completion. Medals are sent by post within a reasonable time of the deadline for completing the race to the address provided by you during the race entry process. It is your responsibility to ensure that your address and any other details are correct, and we will not be responsible or liable to you if these details are incorrect.
- The Organisers reserve the right to disqualify any Participant found to be in breach of the terms and conditions. Disqualification can be enforced due to any of the following: o Swapping numbers with another Participant o Not completing the required Half Marathon Distance o Not submitting adequate completion evidence
- Participants agree to receive emails, mailings, marketing and/or mobile phone text messages from the race Organisers, sponsors, and charities in relation to their entry and participation in DB Wood Virtual Newark Half Marathon (the Participant retaining the right to opt out of further unrelated mailings and messages).
- The Organiser may use the Participants contact data submitted on the online form to send the Participant information by email and or SMS relating to the event, other events and any further categories of news and promotional information (the Participant retaining the right to opt out of further unrelated mailings and messages)
- The participant acknowledges and agrees that the Organiser may send an email or SMS notification following the event inviting the participant to submit or renew his/her registration for any future events
- Participants consent to still & motion images of their participation in the event being used for marketing and publicity purposes.
