1 March 2021 -
16 June 2021

Welcome to Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team’s 200K Challenge 2021, the charity chosen and supported by Councillor Nigel Patrick the Mayor of Kirklees 2021-22.

While we’re not allowed to meet together we had a thought – what if a small bunch of us did the walk around our team area boundary and the rest of the World join us VIRTUALLY by walking, running, biking, riding, canoeing some or all of the 12 legs (roughly 10 miles each) in your own time and where you can do it.

This is a fundraiser for the team, as its virtual you can track your daily exercise and the app will track your progress on a map, showing you exactly where you would be in real life. You can get competitive and join as a virtual team, or make it a class or club event but most of all ENJOY IT and know you are supporting a great cause.

If you have friends and family around the world ask them to participate – let’s see how far from Yorkshire we can get people joining in.

Along the way we will keep you updated as you complete a leg, revealing photos of the team and various landmarks.

Event extended to June 16th

Note that to record your time/distance you need to use the button on your Ticket - all your Tickets are under the My Area menu.

Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team are 70 volunteers based in Marsden and have been continuing to deliver Search & Rescue provision all through the COVID pandemic – with no normal fundraising events – we thought of this one – thanks for having a go.
